InvoiceKit Pro pricing

The generator stays free: every field, every layout, unlimited PDF downloads, no account. Pro is for the part nobody enjoys - keeping the paperwork, sending a month of invoices in one file, and getting the numbers into an accounting tool without retyping them.

Free

$0 / forever

  • Every field, every layout on the free list, unlimited single PDF downloads
  • Print, drafts and auto-incrementing invoice numbers
  • USD and 17 other currencies with correct decimal places
  • Nothing uploaded - the PDF is assembled in your browser
Open the generator

Pro

$6 / month

  • Unlimited saved invoices (free keeps 3)
  • Export the whole list as one PDF, ready to attach
  • CSV export for bookkeeping (Quickbooks, Xero, Wave columns)
  • Pro layouts: USD 6/mo includes the full set
  • Removes the small InvoiceKit line from the PDF footer

Automatic checkout is not switched on yet, so Pro is opened by hand: send the billing email below and the tools are unlocked in the browser you pay from, then restored anywhere with your recovery code. Prices in USD; VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies.

Enter the email you were billed on plus the recovery code from the confirmation page. Nothing is uploaded: the code is checked against the subscription record, and this browser gets its own key back.

What Pro actually changes about your month

Free and Pro produce exactly the same invoice. Same maths, same fields, same print-safe layout, same PDF built on your own machine. If the document you send a client is not correct on the free plan, charging you would be extortion, so the document itself is never the thing behind the paywall.

What differs is everything around the document. On the free plan you keep three invoices in the browser's saved list; beyond that you are back to downloading one file at a time. That is fine for someone who bills twice a month and genuinely does not need a list. It becomes annoying the moment you have a client who wants last quarter's invoices resent, or a bookkeeper who wants a spreadsheet of what you billed rather than thirty PDFs to open.

Pro covers those two jobs. The saved list stops having a limit, the whole list exports as one PDF you can attach to a single email, and the same rows export as CSV with the columns accounting tools expect: invoice number, issue date, due date, client, currency, subtotal, tax, total, amount paid, balance. Those are the three places where an invoicing tool earns a small recurring fee, because they are the three places where you were doing it by hand.

The line between free and paid, drawn in one sentence

Anything that produces one invoice for one client is free, forever, with no watermark on the document that matters and no nag before the download button. Pro only sells the things that scale with how many invoices you send: storage of your own history, bulk export, and the optional footer line that advertises us rather than you.

That rule exists because of how this site gets used. Someone lands here from a search for a deposit invoice, fills the form in ninety seconds, downloads the PDF, and leaves. Interrupting that person with a paywall would cost you the document and cost me nothing - they would just go to the next result. The people who pay are the ones who come back for their fourth invoice in a week and find the list full. That is a real reason to pay, and it arrives at the moment the value is already proven.

  • Free: every field on every page, all four free layouts, unlimited single PDF downloads, print, drafts, auto-incrementing numbers, 18 currencies.
  • Free keeps three saved invoices; the rest of the list is read-only until you delete something or go Pro.
  • Pro: unlimited saved invoices, batch PDF, CSV export, Pro layouts, no footer line on the exported PDF.
  • Nothing is uploaded on either plan. The invoice data, the client list and the card-free drafts all stay in your browser.

What Pro does not do, so you do not discover it later

It is not cloud storage. The saved list lives in the browser you used, which is also why nothing of yours sits on a server to be breached or subpoenaed. Clear your site data and the list is gone, so download the PDFs you care about; a Pro subscription does not resurrect a cleared browser. What it does survive is your own identity as a payer: the subscription is recorded against the billing email, so restoring with your recovery code brings Pro back even though the invoices themselves never left the machine.

It does not sync between your phone and your laptop. Each device keeps its own list. If you need one archive reachable from anywhere, that is a genuinely different product and pretending otherwise would be the first dishonest thing on this page.

It sends no reminders, does not take payment, and does not reconcile a bank feed. It will not chase a client who has not paid, because that requires storing client contact details somewhere other than your machine, and that is the line this site will not cross.

It is not accounting software. The CSV export is designed to be imported into one, and the columns follow the shape most of them expect, but the ledger, the tax return and the advice on whether your invoice is valid in your country remain yours and your accountant's.

How the billing works, in plain terms

Checkout runs on Stripe, which handles the card, the recurring charge, the tax invoice for your own records and the cancel button. This site never sees a card number - there is no field for one anywhere, and any page that asks you for card details on this domain is not one of ours.

Cancel from the link in any Stripe receipt, or write to the contact address and it will be done for you. Pro keeps working to the end of the period you already paid for; nothing is switched off mid-month. If you start it and decide within fourteen days that the saved list was not worth it, ask and the charge is reversed, without a retention email first.

Prices are shown in US dollars and local tax is added at checkout where it applies, which is why the figure you pay may differ from the figure on this page. If cards from your country route badly through the checkout, say so on the contact page and the situation will be looked at rather than argued with.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account?

No, and there is no sign-up form to fill. The billing email you type at checkout is the account: the payment provider records the subscription against it, this site keeps no password table, and the confirmation page hands you a ten-character recovery code that proves you are the same person on any other device. Losing the code costs you one email to the billing address, not your subscription.

I paid on my work laptop - how do I get Pro at home?

Open the pricing page at home, use the restore box, and enter the same billing email plus the recovery code. The subscription record is checked and the browser you are in switches on for the rest of the paid period. If you never wrote the code down, the email address on the contact page gets it back to you after checking the charge.

Do I lose my saved invoices if I cancel Pro?

No. The list stays in your browser and every invoice in it stays readable and downloadable one at a time. What changes is the ceiling: once you are back on Free, the list holds three entries again, so exporting the whole thing as one PDF or CSV before you cancel takes ten seconds and costs nothing.

Why is there no free trial?

Because the free plan already is the trial for everything except the three things Pro adds, and a trial that expires into a card charge is a support burden for you and a refund queue for me. Fill the saved list to four entries and you will know immediately whether the limit is real for how you work.

Can I switch from monthly to yearly later?

Yes. Start the yearly period from the pricing page and cancel the monthly one; both are managed by the payment provider, and the monthly charge stops at its period end while the yearly one begins at once. Nothing about your saved list changes when you do it.

Is my client list uploaded when I go Pro?

No, and that is deliberate rather than an oversight. Pro removes a storage limit in your browser and adds two exporters; it does not move your data to a server, so there is no account to breach, no employee with database access, and nothing to hand over. The only thing the billing side holds is your email and the subscription record.

Does the CSV open in QuickBooks, Xero or Wave?

It is written with the columns those tools ask for - invoice number, issue and due dates, contact, currency, subtotal, tax, total, paid, balance - so an import maps without renaming. Each of them still wants its own confirmation step before posting, and neither of us should pretend a flat file replaces that.

What if two people in my studio need Pro?

Pro is not metered by seats, so a colleague using the same subscription on their own browser is fine. What it does not do is give you a shared archive, because there is no archive in the first place. If a shared client book is the actual requirement, this is the wrong tool and I would rather you found out here than after paying.

Is there a refund?

Ask within fourteen days of a charge and it is reversed, no explanation needed. After that, the period you paid for runs to its end and you can cancel in one click from the Stripe receipt.

Why should I believe any of this?

Because the free tools are the demonstration. Nothing here asks for an email before it lets you produce a document, the privacy page names every party that sees data, and the source of the invoice maths is the same file on both plans - you can compare a free PDF with a Pro one and see that the only difference is a footer line.
